{"id":10354,"date":"2025-08-13T09:51:05","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T07:51:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.april-learning.com\/?post_type=practical-example&#038;p=10354"},"modified":"2025-10-24T15:25:33","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T13:25:33","slug":"verdieping-in-didactisch-en-coachend-trainen","status":"publish","type":"practical-example","link":"https:\/\/april-learning.com\/en\/praktijkvoorbeeld\/verdieping-in-didactisch-en-coachend-trainen\/","title":{"rendered":"Coaching-Based Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Municipality of The Hague wanted to strengthen its internal trainers in their didactic skills and support them in developing a more coaching-oriented attitude during their training sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Development and delivery of the program<\/strong><br>I was responsible for both the design and delivery of this learning program. The participants were internal trainers who already provided training to colleagues in the field of digital skills. During the train-the-trainer program, they brought in their own cases, worked on designing effective learning situations, and learned how to translate didactic principles into their own practice. They also deepened their understanding of how to guide learning processes, with special attention to group dynamics, brain-based learning principles, and their role as coaching trainers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Individual coaching: reflecting in a safe space<\/strong><br>In addition to the group sessions, I provided individual coaching. As an internal trainer working within the dynamics of a large organization, you deal with group pressure, learning objectives, time constraints, and sometimes resistance. Especially when you are still developing your craft, it is valuable to have a safe space to reflect on what you encounter and to explore how to take up your role as a trainer with both confidence and attunement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Blended program<\/strong><br>The blended program offered opportunities to practice, receive feedback, and reflect through experiential learning. As a result, participants grew in their didactic and coaching repertoire, as well as in their confidence as trainers.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As an internal trainer, how can you design coaching-based training that truly aligns with the learning needs of your colleagues?
