Coaching Leadership

Coaching Leadership Programs

Each programme is tailor-made and developed in collaboration with the organisation. The following elements are always included: a connection between theory and practice, attention to professional identity, space for reflection, and application in the participant's own work situation.

This enables participants to develop the skills and confidence to act as coaches. The organisation then evolves towards a culture in which coaching-based collaboration becomes second nature.

What does this look like in practice? Below are three examples of learning programmes I designed and implemented for organisations that wanted to strengthen coaching in their work. Each programme is tailored to the specific context, learning needs and goals of the professionals.

A recent example: at Assa Abloy Entrance Systems I am currently designing, developing and delivering a coaching leadership programme centred on continuous improvement, for the management team and team leaders. You'll find more programmes like this under case studies.

Coaching Leadership Training

Fundamentals

In this three-hour training, leaders are introduced to the basics of coaching leadership, inspired by relational coaching and solution-focused coaching. Coaching leadership means not taking over or solving problems for people, but helping employees arrive at their own insights and take action. Providing direction where needed, and space where possible.

Who it's for

For leaders who want to give their employees greater ownership and discover how a coaching style can strengthen their conversations. No prior coaching experience is required.

What participants will learn

  • What coaching leadership is - and what it is not
  • How to shift between directing and coaching, depending on the situation and the individual employee
  • Core skills: asking open questions, listening and creating space
  • How to recognise the pitfall of taking over and problem-solving in themselves
  • How to take a first step towards holding coaching conversations

Approach and methodology

  • A compact, interactive three-hour training
  • Brief theoretical frameworks, applied directly in practice
  • Practising with familiar situations from participants' own leadership experience
  • A small group, to ensure a safe setting and personal attention

Results

Participants will understand the core principles of coaching leadership and will have practised the key conversational skills. They leave with concrete tools they can apply immediately in conversations with their employees.
