'I had the privilege of working closely with Erica at ROC Rijn IJssel as we developed a vision and policy for the coaching role of vocational teachers and the creation of an e-learning course on career coaching for vocational teachers and other education professionals. During this time, Erica continuously deepened her knowledge and professional skills. She has developed into a true coaching expert in a range of areas.

Erica played an important and critical role in helping teachers become coaches. She used a blended approach to create the conditions to help teachers develop coaching skills. Erica was project leader and responsible for the “teacher in the role of career coach” project. She did not shy away from difficult or challenging situations. Her perseverance and adaptability made her an example to others.

Moreover, she showed the courage to be vulnerable, which only made her stronger in her role. This period was characterised by a great deal of uncertainty, resistance and anxiety among teachers and others involved in education. She managed to create a safe learning environment for teachers and teaching teams and laid the foundations for learning in the role of coach. She focused particularly on responding to the individual needs of participants, which she was very good at. She made full use of her growing expertise in coaching to benefit the learning process.
